About the Event

Join us for an afternoon of wild food foraging that goes beyond just teaching you about the plants and fungi of our wild larder.

During the course we'll encourage you to put yourself into the mindset of our prehistoric ancestors. How they might have viewed the wild landscapes around them. How they used their knowledge to create a relationship with this environment that sustained them well enough to ensure our existence today.

Led by experienced guides you’ll venture into woodlands and hedgerows and learn to identify the various plants and fungi we find. You’ll also learn a few other ancient crafts like how to use the trees and plants of the woodland to navigate, and an introduction to some of the tools and methods used by our ancestors as they made their way through prehistoric life.

Costs: £35 per adult (16+) or £35 per adult early bird sign up (before Sept 15th).

Highlights:

  • Wild food identification and preparation
  • Natural navigation techniques
  • A chance to ‘walk with our ancestors’ and tap their knowledge
  • A Mesolithic history overview of the area surrounding Damson Hill
  • Foraging Origins goodies tote bag
